EU Orders & VAT
Please note that from Monday 1st April 2024 z80kits will no longer be collecting VAT from EU customers.
This will allow much cheaper shipping methods to be used, resulting in lower costs. However, VAT will still be due. This will most likely be payable to your local postal service prior to delivery, and may include a fee too.
Please note that from Monday 1st July 2026 z80kits is now collecting VAT from EU customers again. This is in response to new EU regulations which prevent me shipping any kits to the EU without pre-paying the VAT. This VAT is then paid to Royal Mail who then pass it on to the appropriate tax authority in whichever country the goods are being shipped to.
The paragraph above about collecting VAT is only correct for some EU countries. Royal Mail forces me to pay VAT on orders shipped to some countries, but will not allow me to pay VAT for others. The list of countries which VAT is pre-charged, and paid to the appropriate tax authority is;
- Austria
- Bulgaria
- Cyprus
- Denmark
- Estonia
- Finland
- France
- Germany
- Italy
- Luxembourg
- Malta
- Netherlands
- Norway
- Portugal
- Slovakia
- Spain
- Switzerland
- Sweden
- The Republic of Ireland
Orders to any countries not on this list will not be charged VAT on checkout and the recipient will be responsible for any tax or import fees.
There is also a charge of 3 Euro for every line item being shipped. This is not easy to set up within the z80kits software, and for most kits I can absorb that cost. For smaller items I may have to look at these orders on a case by case basis.
