Description
Due to the different power and filter requirements the 6581 and 8580 SIDs aren’t interchangeable. This adapter contains the circuitry for the exact requirements of the 8580, converting the 12V supply for the 6581 to 9V for the 8580, and has the correct filter capacitors for the 8580. Plus it also adds the extra capacitance to the POTX and POTY analogue paddle inputs as per the notes on the Commodore schematics for the C64
This module was originally designed for the RC2014 SID Interface by Quazar but the tab can be easily snapped off to allow it to be used in a Commodore C64 or other devices which have a socket for a 6581 SID chip.
